100% Melon de Bourgogne, but simply known as Muscadet, it’s a world-class oyster wine grown near the Atlantic at the Loire Estuary. Not your garden variety Muscadet. Pear, quince, herbal notes, crushed stones. On the palate, yellow plums, apples, pear. A little fuller from sitting on the lees. Very minerally finish. Wonderful wine -- to sip of with seafood (classic). But held up to spicy chorizo sausage with no problem whatsoever.

100% Pinot Noir. The nose is incredible. It's the soil with raspberries (black & red) with a little note of cherry. Black and red cherries, blackberries, dark plums on the mid-palate. Good acidity (but not acidic - makes it great for food, but you can still sip & enjoy), elegant in style. Fresh, long finish. Raspberries from start to finish which is unusual and delightful!! We enjoyed with beef tenderloin on a bed of cauliflower purée and sautéed spinach.

Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon. Old vines = more body in the terrific, classic Bordeaux rouge. Cassis, plums, sandalwood (balsamic?) on the nose. Fruits are more dominant in the flavors: black plums, blackberry, soft note of cassis. Super elegant, complex, great acidity with a LONG, pleasantly dry finish. Has this wine hit its prime? It's close. I think it will be excellent for the next 2 years, but it's out of this world now.

100% Nerello Mascalese from the slopes of Mt. Etna. Lots of floral notes (winemaker says: iris, wisteria & rose) and fresh herbs on the nose followed by red plums. The body is fuller and the finish is dry, but what makes this wine is the volcanic minerality. Complex. Really fun rosé.

Fresh orange zest acidity. Medium to lighter in body. Juicy with some earthy, pepper, spice. Fine tannins on the finish with a note of balsamic. This wine will age!! Fresh and good today, especially with food.

Dry. Final-final = salinity & herbs. Great wine.

Fresh vineyard aromas, white peach, citrus & grass with a pleasant, faintly bitter note on the finish. Lighter in body. Winery says to enjoy with hors d’oeuvres, moscioli (mussels) di Portonovo spaghetti, and risotto. Their special tip is pizza al formaggio with ciauscolo (a local sausage).
