100%Tannat. Red and black plums + the black raspberries that we gobble up on the way home from the farmers market in summer. Palate is plummy (dark plums), blackberries. Great acidity. Fresh long finish. 4 months in French barrique tames the tannins with this highly tannic grape and adds in a coffee note. Really fun wine, especially for the price. Steak!

100% Vermentino. Unoaked, pleasant easy-drinking with lovely soft fruits and flowers on the nose. Nuance of white stone fruit on the palate with a tiny note of white melon, but it's not at all sweet. It's a beautiful, savory, minerally white that is pleasant and refreshing.

100% Cabernet. Stainless-steel aged, so no oak. Dark plums, a little blackberry, touch of smokiness on the nose. 100% Melon de Bourgogne, but simply known as Muscadet, it’s a world-class oyster wine grown near the Atlantic at the Loire Estuary. Not your garden variety Muscadet. Pear, quince, herbal notes, crushed stones. On the palate, yellow plums, apples, pear. A little fuller from sitting on the lees. Very minerally finish. Wonderful wine -- to sip of with seafood (classic). But held up to spicy chorizo sausage with no problem whatsoever.

We enjoyed with beef tenderloin on a bed of cauliflower purée and sautéed spinach.

Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon. Old vines = more body in the terrific, classic Bordeaux rouge. Cassis, plums, sandalwood (balsamic?) on the nose. Fruits are more dominant in the flavors: black plums, blackberry, soft note of cassis. Super elegant, complex, great acidity with a LONG, pleasantly dry finish. Has this wine hit its prime? It's close. I think it will be excellent for the next 2 years, but it's out of this world now.

100% Nerello Mascalese from the slopes of Mt. Etna. Lots of floral notes (winemaker says: iris, wisteria & rose) and fresh herbs on the nose followed by red plums. The body is fuller and the finish is dry, but what makes this wine is the volcanic minerality. Complex. Really fun rosé.
